SanDisk's CompactFlash Cards Provide Industry Standard Scalable Storage For The Xilinx System ACE CF Technology System
SUNNYVALE, CA, July 31, 2001 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today that it will supply Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) with industrial-grade CompactFlash™ (CF™) cards for the Xilinx® new System Advanced Configuration Environment (System ACE™) technology. System ACE series provides a pre-engineered solution to manage the configuration of FPGA-based systems. The sale marks the growing importance of CompactFlash cards in the high-end telecommunications market.
Mustafa Veziroglu, director of Configurations Solutions Group at Xilinx said, "Previously, we used PROMs to hold the configuration codes but these had limited capacity and functionality. The Xilinx System ACE CF configuration solution includes a standard, removable CompactFlash card and uses an industry-standard FAT file system to store and manage multiple configuration bitstreams and supporting files, which enables design engineers using FPGAs to develop one system to serve many purposes.
