SUNNYVALE, CA, June 2, 2003 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) announced today the promotion of José Flahaux, 57, to the position of senior vice president worldwide operations. In his new position, Flahaux will report to Sanjay Mehrotra, SanDisks chief operating officer, and will have responsibility for managing the companys worldwide operations organization.
As the senior vice president of worldwide operations, Flahaux has direct responsibility for customer order management, procurement, global supply chain planning and execution, test and packaging engineering, as well as information technology. This includes the management of offshore manufacturing, test and customer order fulfillment operations.
"José Flahauxs extensive experience and proven management skills in global supply chain management, manufacturing, logistics, order fulfillment, information technology and business reengineering are valuable assets that will enable us to continue to scale up our manufacturing operations, while meeting customer expectations," said Mehrotra. Flahaux began his career at SanDisk in December 1999 when he joined as vice president business systems. Prior to SanDisk, he was vice president of logistics and supply chain management at Raychem Corporation. He was president and co-founder of Supply Point Solutions. He also had a 28-year international career with Unisys and Burroughs Corporation, where he was vice president and general manager of worldwide order fulfillment operations for the Unisys PC/server division. Flahaux earned his electrical engineering degree from Polytechnic Institute of Liège, Belgium.
