The advanced KX5 features a 2-inch TFT color display, a music player with three-dimensional stereo sound, video capture capabilities, and a digital camera with 1.3-megapixel resolution. The SD Card Association (SDA), an industry-standards setting organization for the SD card and its applications, recently adopted TransFlash as the new storage card format for handsets and renamed it the "microSD" card. microSD cards are fully compatible with TransFlash cards and will be fully supported by Kyocera and other handset manufacturers.
"We are pleased that Kyocera has selected the SanDisk TransFlash card for the KX5," said Wes Brewer, vice president of retail products at SanDisk. "An increasing number of consumers not only want stylish wireless handsets, but they also want advanced features such as music players on their phones that will match their busy and individualized lifestyles," said Lee Ittner, vice president of global sales and marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp.
